When I was a kid, we used to watch the Bozo Show. Bozo was a clown and they had kids play different games on the show. We loved watching the kids win their prizes.
My favorite game on the show was called the Bozo Game. It was where there were 6 buckets line up behind each other in a line. Someone stood in front of the first bucket and threw a ball into it. If they made it, they got a prize and got to try for the 2nd bucket. They kept going through the buckets until they missed.
Why can’t we do the same game with practicing information that we want our kids to learn or remember?
First you need to figure out what information that you want your kids to practice: math facts, spelling words, geographical locations, etc. Any information will work.
Here’s what to do:
Put out 6 buckets lining them up behind each other in a line
Have your child line up before the 1st bucket holding a ball
Ask them a question, when they answer it correctly, they throw the ball into the 1st bucket
Get the ball and give it back to the child
Ask them another question, when they answer it correctly, they throw the ball into the 2nd bucket
Continue through the buckets
This is a great hands-on way to get your kids to practice!
