When I was growing up, my mom would ask us every morning what the day of the week and date was. We begrudgingly answered. What I didn't know at the time was that she was instilling in us information that we would use for the rest of our life. I didn't realize how important that little daily ritual was until I started teaching in the public school. To my surprise, there were many students who didn't know the days of the week or months of the year.
I wanted to start this year off with some review to get our youngest back in the swing of doing school. I made these printables for him to do some hands-on review with the calendar.
There are Days of the Week, Months of the Year, as well as, what I like to call, the Numbers of the Calendar. What are the Numbers of the calendar, you ask? You know: 7 days=1 week, 12 months=1 year, 52 weeks=1 year, & 365 days=1 year.
Feel free to print these for your own homeschool. I printed ours out in color (thank you, Grandma Edie) and then laminated them. Here's the new laminator that Grandma Edie bought recently. She loves it. I have an old one that I might have to upgrade soon.
