It's been a little while since I've done one of these. I really enjoy doing these Five Minute Fridays because it really just gets my creative writing juices going.

Today's topic is - Play. So, here it goes!

Play is definitely something that I don't do as often as I should. Most of the time, I am serious and objective driven. We have school work to complete, groceries to buy, a house to clean, etc. etc. etc. There is too much to do in a day to play.

WRONG! Why does play have to be separate from the work that needs to get done?

I think of Mary Poppins, "In every job that needs to get done, there is an element of fun! When you find the fun, then, SNAP! The job's a game!" Boy, do I want to be more like her. My to do list gets the better of me and everything gets serious. What I need to do is to take a step back for a moment and find the fun in the job.

Especially with my 8 year old. He's still at the age where he loves to play and have fun with others. When we go grocery shopping on Fridays, he always tells me how much he enjoys go shopping with me.

It's okay to have fun - and still get your work done. Life is too short to be serious all of the time. Play is necessary for a good work ethic!

This post is a part of a Five Minute Friday Link-Up! Go check out what others had to say about the topic of PLAY!
