Homeschooling is not for everyone. It's all-consuming. It's challenging. It effects you mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. It's just plain hard sometimes.
It is also fun, joyous, and rewarding. Homeschooling is not just about the books and papers. It's not just about the "school". Homeschooling is a life. That's why we have called this side Homeschool 4 Life. It's a great life, but it can be a difficult life sometimes.
Homeschooling is so worth it. I have been privileged to be able to witness my children as they grow and mature. I haven't had to miss a moment. I love when I am able to see the "light bulb" go off in their heads when they have struggled so hard to understand something and then they finally "get it"! That makes the difficult days worth it.
We are going into our 9th year of homeschooling and it has been a wonderful ride. I can't imagine our lives without homeschool. This was the best decision that we could have made for our family. Don't get me wrong. I used to look longingly at the yellow school bus as it drove past our home. Now I can't think about what our lives would be like without it.
Homeschooling is a privilege. I have been blessed because we homeschool our boys. I think that I have become a better teacher, mother, and person through homeschooling.
I pray that you have been blessed by homeschooling your children.
