Walking a Number Line

Updated: Jul 1

Helping a child to understand how numbers work can be an abstract thing sometimes, especially when you have a kinesthetic (hands-on) learner. That's when I came up with "walking a number line".

The number line is a great tool to use with children to help them use numbers. I decided to make our number line really big and put it on the floor.

Click on the picture below to print yours out, too! Don't forget to laminate it because, after all, it will be on the floor and they will be using their feet to move the numbers.

Watch this video to see some of the ways that we used the floor number line.

Play! Put this on the floor and have your children have fun with math! Add, subtract, multiply, divide, factors, etc.!
