Let the Little Children Come Review #1
Autumn is coming and what better way to celebrate than with pumpkins? Better yet, what about a paper pumpkin that tells the Good News of Jesus Christ? That's what Let the Little Children Come has done when it came out with its halloween tract of Is There Anything Better Than Candy? Box-Tract.
This was a fun little project to put together with our 8 year old.
As you can tell, he was ready and excited to start!
He loves projects.
The first step is to tear out the parts from the paper. This was SUPER easy! The perforation is easy to tear. He usually has trouble with perforated parts, so I was glad to see he could complete this independently. The paper is strong enough to withstand an 8 year old pulling and tugging at it, so I would say that it is made with quality products. The paper is thicker than regular paper which makes it easier to handle.
He then went to town on putting it together!
Here's the final product! Super cute! He loved it, but it doesn't end there.
He took it apart so that he could read inside.
It's the plan of salvation written in terms that children can understand.
Look at those colors! It's really bright and colorful - which are both attractive to catch a child's attention.
As you can see the parts are numbered so the child knows what order to read each part in. On the fifth section, I wanted to clarify a few things for our son. We have been talking with our 8 year old about baptism and how it's an essential part of the plan of salvation, so I labeled each part with the plan: belief, confession & repentance, and baptism.
This was really a great little project. It was quick and easy to do. (By the way, I LOVE quick and easy!)
We chatted about what he could do with this project. He thought that he would hole punch the stem and put it on his bag tag for church. Then when someone asked him about it, he would open it up, talk with them about the plan of salvation, and then give it to them.
We also thought that it would be great to put some individually wrapped candies inside. Hershey kisses, small packages of candy corn, or a sucker with the stem sticking out of the stem would all work with this project.
Let the Little Children Come did a great job with the Is There Anything Better Than Candy? Box-Tract. With the addition of labeling the plan of salvation, making sure that baptism is included, this would be a great little prize to hand out at a Harvest Festival!
